Partners in Pellets (PIP) Closing Meeting in Rwanda

November 3, 2025

The closing meeting of Partners in Pellets (PIP) brought together representatives from TRAIDE, BioMassters, Mimi Moto, FairClimateFund, BIX Capital, RVO and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Rwanda, to reflect on the program’s achievements between 2022 and 2024.

Participants discussed the successful establishment of Rwanda’s pellet ecosystem, including carbon credit issuance, production scale-up, and institutional cooking pilots. The group identified lessons such as the need for earlier engagement of local partners and stronger policy alignment. Overall, the meeting concluded that PIP made a lasting contribution to clean cooking adoption, local capacity building, and trade and investment relations between Rwanda and the Netherlands. Partners in Pellets has now been extended for another year with the aim to support other pellet producers in Rwanda and onboard them to the carbon credit program. All with the objective to further develop the pellet ecosystem in Rwanda.
